How Two Live on The Look DCU

I decided to get a move on and try to do something constructive with my life this year by getting more involved in clubs and soc's in university. After forking out to join a bunch of them again, and going to EGM's and not signing up for anything I thought I should make a change. I plucked up a bit of courage and emailed a pair of my favourite bloggers Jess and Stef from How Two Live and even managed to bag myself an exclusive interview. I thought, I'm just a small Irish blogger they will be far too busy to answer my email let alone answer my questions, but they were absolutely lovely and answered my questions with such enthusiasm. Need I say I am ridiculously chuffed! These Aussies have crazy, gorgeous style and are such an inspiration. So I sent in my article to DCU style society and they very kindly put it on their blog http://thelookdcu.tumblr.com/ . High DIY

First year of college has really depleted my stash of high heels, with all the partying I have had to get heels and soles of my heels repaired a few times, but when my suede heels get scuffed there was usually little I could do. I grow very attached to my heels and find it hard to let go sometimes. Shoes carry sentimental value no? Anyways these chunky heeled black suede platforms of mine had been sitting in the back of my wardrobe fit for the bin but I just couldn't let go. So I figured a little high heel DIY wouldn't hurt and if they still looked awful afterwards I would then succumb to the pressure and put them in the bin. But I think they turned out alright, I have already worn them out and my Mum has given them her seal of approval which is all I need! I got these heels for my graduation last year in Shoerack in Bray and it was love at first sight! So for my tricks on High DIY follow these 7 easy steps!

Step 1: Lay out newspaper or a plastic sheet to put your shoe on so as not to destroy the surface you are working on.
Step 2: Stuff your shoes with newspaper to avoid ruining the insides of your shoes
Step 3: Pick out 2/3 bottles of nail varnish in your favourite colours. I chose 2 different purples and metallic silver.
Step 4: Using one colour at a time drizzle the nail varnish straight from the bottle all over the shoe in swirls or chevrons or whatever tickles your fancy.
Step 5: Wait for the nail varnish to dry before setting out a new sheet of newspaper and attacking the other side of the shoes.
Step 6: When both sides have dried use a piece of cotton wool and nail varnish remover to fix any mistakes on the sole and you are good to go.
Step 7: Time to party! :)
Mid attack!

My chosen nail varnishes from Catrice, Calvin Klein and Star Gazer .
